Hi ! My question is....do you use in US such expression :
- What HAS COME over you ? ( I mean the tense )
or maybe DID would be better because for me it sounds a bit British...and I'm wonderin' if the Americans say it in the same way .

It's been a while since I've heard that phrase, and so I think it belongs more now to an older generation. On the other hand, younger people are more often allowed to try new beliefs and things so it won't be as common. You had the phrase correct though.
If a friend is describing a political view that is completely foreign to everything they believe (e.g., support for President Bush), one might say: "What has come over you?"
If a friend is describing a past choice they made that was out of character (e.g., a bungee jumping experience), one might ask: "What came over you?"
Any ideas on what the young American phrase might be?

So when I see a man who's killing people on the street I may shout : WHAT HAS COME OVER YOU ?!?! May I ??
